Description

Show: Family Guy
Episode: S7 E9
Year: 2009

Writer(s): Andrew Goldberg
Director(s): Cydni Tang

This is that Family Guy episode that used a full Conway Twitty music video to kill 3 minutes because the show runners are fucking LAZY! Beyond that, it claims that it is a lost episode from March 2007; a Family Guy episode takes 6 months to a whole year to be completed and this aired in March 2009, so I can confirm this was made to make fun of Orenthal James Simpson's arrest because these assholes think they have foresight. I can also confirm that they're taking something everybody already fucking knows and news that's 15 years out of date! A Simpsons episode from after the 10th season did an episode about an old raffle ticket prize better!

This episode attempts to teach forgiveness or not to jump to conclusions due to ones past actions. You ever heard of Aesop’s fable “The Farmer and the Viper”? Or Robot Chicken's take on Bidpai’s fable “The Frog and the Scorpion”? Yeah, it's kind of like that. Despite all the hoops Peter goes through to prove O.J. Simpson is a nice guy and get the town to sympathize with him, turns out he's evil after all and goes on a killing spree in the end! Meaning all that emotional bullshit we went through with him never able to live down the shame of his MURDER was all for nothing! This is a more abstract type of horror I went with this time; to most, it isn't really scary or disturbing, but to those who try to see certain celebrities as beloved idols in spite of the horrific actions some have done like Orenthal here, those people might need help if they idolize them to this extent and can't see them for what the really are! It’s kind of like those people, who still idolize Charles Manson as a member of the Monkees, even though he was NEVER a member of the Monkees, he was a cultist and a serial killer.

The only gag that made me laugh was Brian farting himself awake. Even if you get O.J. to confess, nobody's going to do anything because of how long ago the trial and charges were; I am not adverse well in law, just so you know. And apparently, you should always assume the worst of somebody because of their past, even though they do feel remorse and regret, because they could snap at any minute so you gotta kill them first before they kill others!
