Yes I am aware The New Batman Adventures is a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series and is technically it's 3rd season, but I am going to consider it a seperate series for simplification purposes. That and, the vastly different artstyle. It doesn't really bother me too much, but I really hate the Joker's redesign here, it looks like he's possessed! But I'll get into that when I do an admirable on Mad Love. Funny how this episode aired right after it.

Truth be told it isn't THAT bad compared to things like I've Got Batman in my Basement, I mean it's Batman, it's really hard to make anything with him suck; you have to TRY and make something with Batman suck (Batman and Robin). This however is a flavor of bad that goes against the mold of the Batman soul as it were. I've seen a similar if not exact plot of this episode done much better in the movie Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, but this episode has none of the action, mystery or emotion of that movie. I could tell everything that was going to happen right when we got to this shot here that it was a trap by Poison Ivy. A good Batman story keeps you on your toes, it makes you think, feel and get into the mind of the Dark Knight and his foes. This is as predictable as you can get.

Honestly this episode feels like a bad fanfic. Bruce Wayne would NEVER abandon being Batman after a one night stand with a girl he just met! By the way there was an earlier episode where he tried to stop Harvey Dent from doing the exact same thing! I believe it was in Pretty Poison. I swear Batman/Catwoman fics have more dignity. It's just..... WHY? I'm aromantic and even I know that marrying someone you just met is a stupid, stupid idea! Especially if you're the GODDAMN BATMAN! I seriously cannot believe a thing that's going on in this episode and take it with a straight face. And leaving the possibility that an ARSONIST is on the loose to just Batgirl and Robin is irresponsible! What if it was Firefly who caused the damage? Huh? The actual reveal of Poison Ivy having been using plant mutants is honesty really creepy, unnervingly so. And beyond that everyone's spouses being outed as evil plant mutants comes off as a total copout. And even though Dick Grayson is in this episode, he doesn't even bother as Nightwing to give a helping hand!? Well fuck you Dick. Just, stupid, stupid, stupid. I want Joel Schumacher back.

in case you didn't watch the whole episode Bruce was under the effect of the pheromones used by Poison Ivy and his so called wife was a Plant creature created by Poison Ivy it was all a part of her plant to murder some of Gotham's high class citizens and inherit their money their mate who were also plant creatures themselves the episode is basically a show case of how somethings can be too perfect
