Description

Show: Dan. Vs.
Episode: S3 E3
Year: 2012

Writer(s): Chris Pearson
Director(s): Stephanie Arnett

You ever get the feeling that you're boss is out to get you? Like they're just pure ultimate evil? After this episode Dan knows that feeling all too well. With eviction in his future he's forced to get a temp job with Chris at a telemarketing company. His job: collect the debt of those who won't pay their magazine subscriptions. Those people are the absolute worst, they NEVER leave you alone! Watching this after Dan Vs. The Telemarketer is sort of ironic in a weird way, it would explain how the impostor was able to keep track of Dan's every movement, which I'll get to in a bit.

Needless to say Dan's boss has very little faith in the guy's rebellious nature and loves to dehumanize him, she would fire him but a part of her just wants to see him suffer, her words not mine. But as it turns out Dan's anger can actually be quite useful for debt collecting, like he gets so angry and loud he cracks the windows! I can only imagine some of the disturbing things he's said to people to get them to pay their subscriptions. This leads to him getting his own office and becoming Temp of the week, it also kinda makes Chris jealous of his friends success, and he's kinda right to be since Dan is a tremendous jerk, and he becomes a complete asshole to his friend because of this power trip, kinda like that one Rocko's Modern Life episode without the nipples of the future.

Because Dan confiscated his phone Chris has to go back to work to get it and ends up discovering a horrible secret about his boss: SHE'S A DEMON! Like an actual red devil from hell Demon! And even after the reveal she still really funny and affable, must come with being voiced by Felicia Day, I think she was on The Office. And once Dan catches wind of Chris' discovery he's sent to capture him and use him as a sacrifice! And no, they don't make it obvious whatsoever that it's actually an elaborate ruse to cast the demon bitch back into the flames of hell; the first time viewing untill the reveal you'll honestly believe Dan would legitimately sacrifice his best friend since childhood for the sake of gaining the power of ultimate evil! I mean he's willing to do almost ANYTHING ELSE.

The final showdown with the boss is just the right level of funny and intense. This goes to show just how far Dan will go to keep Chris, while also throwing him in dangers wake. It's a testament to how manipulative the guy can really be. Think about it, he was able to trick a Demon! That in and of itself makes up for when a Seth Green Mummy made him his bitch. And it just ends on a really good feeling.

Dan Vs. is owned by Starz and The Hatchery.

"And even after the reveal she still really funny and affable, must come with being voiced by Felicia Day, I think she was on The Office."

She wasn't in the The Office, she was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
